Insurers can't deny claims for undisclosed conditions unrelated to current ailment: HC
The Kerala High Court ruled that insurers can't deny medical claims of policyholders for non-disclosure of pre-existing medical conditions which are unrelated to the existing ailment for which the policy is being claimed. It was hearing a case where LIC denied ₹60,093 claim for a policyholder's wife's hysterectomy in 2016 over non-disclosure of her hernia surgery, which happened in 2006.
