Interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS might've broken into 16 pieces
Interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, a rare visitor from beyond our solar system, may have shattered after nearing the Sun. Astronomers observed an unusual "anti-tail" and powerful gas jets, suggesting it split into up to sixteen fragments. Astrophysicist Avi Loeb believes the Sun's intense heat triggered the breakup, with the comet losing nearly two million kilograms per second.
