Internet had been shut in Iran for over 60 hours before being resumed amid the conflict with Israel, cybersecurity watchdog NetBlocks has reported. The shutdown, announced by Iranian government, affected the Iranian public's ability to express political viewpoints, and follow safety alerts amid airstrikes. Access to WhatsApp and social media platforms had also been blocked in the country.
