Israel strikes gunmen attacking Druze members in Syria post clashes
Israeli military chief Lt General Eyal Zamir said the forces have struck gunmen who attacked civilians from the minority Druze community in outskirts of Syria's Damascus. The move came after an outbreak of sectarian violence which reportedly killed 40 people. Notably, Druze is an offshoot of Shia Islam with roughly 1 million followers in Syria and smaller populations in Israel.
