Jamiat chief defends ‘jihad’, says ‘Dead community will say Vande Mataram if told to do so'
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind chief Mahmood Madani is being criticised for defending jihad at an event and saying, "If there is oppression, there will be jihad." He also commented on National Song Vande Mataram, saying, "A 'murda kaum' (dead community) surrenders...They'll be told to recite Vande Mataram and they'll do so." His remarks have sparked a row for being provocative.
