Japan's coalition govt to back Sanae Takaichi as first female PM
Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and right-leaning Japan Innovation Party (Ishin) have agreed to form a coalition government, paving the way for Sanae Takaichi to become Japan's first female prime minister. LDP leader Takaichi and Ishin chief Hirofumi Yoshimura will sign their alliance on Monday, though Ishin will initially not join the cabinet. Takaichi will succeed Shigeru Ishiba.
