US President Donald Trump has claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping told him China won't invade Taiwan while Trump remains the President. Trump and Xi had held their first confirmed call of Trump's second presidential term in June. Notably, China views Taiwan as its own territory and has vowed to "reunify" with the separately governed island, by force if necessary.
