JioMart fined ₹1 lakh for selling uncertified walkie-talkies
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a ₹1 lakh penalty on JioMart (Reliance Retail Limited) for listing uncertified walkie-talkies and running misleading ads. Several devices were being sold without key details such as operating frequencies or required approvals. The body said this omission misled consumers into believing the devices could be freely purchased and used.
