The Supreme Court on Thursday criticised the Karnataka government for not acting against those who threatened violence over the release of actor-politician Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’. The state government’s advocate argued that the public was hurt by Haasan’s "Kannada was born out of Tamil" remark and called it a “publicity gimmick”. The SC stated, “You fell into that trap.”
