Kerala govt hikes ASHA workers’ pay to ₹8,000 after 266-day stir
The Kerala government has increased ASHA workers' monthly honorarium to ₹8,000, effective November 1, ending their 266-day protest outside the Secretariat. The ₹1,000 hike will benefit over 26,000 workers statewide. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also promised to clear arrears, though workers say their larger demands for ₹21,000 pay and ₹5 lakh retirement benefits remain unmet.
