Kerala on alert as 11-year-old diagnosed with amoebic meningitis
An 11-year-old girl from Malappuram, Kerala, has been diagnosed with rare and often fatal amoebic meningitis, raising active cases at Kozhikode Medical College to three. The child is on ventilator support, while two others, a baby and a 40-year-old man, remain critical. The state has urged precautions against waterborne brain-eating amoeba infections.
