Kia, Hyundai sued by car owners after TikTok challenge causes rise in thefts
Kia and Hyundai have been sued by US car owners alleging Kias built between 2011-2021 and Hyundais built from 2015-2021 were "deliberately" built without an "engine immobilizer". This comes after a viral TikTok challenge has caused a rise in thefts of cars of the brands. Hyundai said it will start selling and installing security kits that should protect against thefts.
