Long COVID risk for children doubles after 2nd infection: Study
A reinfection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19 disease, doubled the risk of developing long COVID among children and adolescents, according to a study published in The Lancet. Researchers found long COVID from second infection coincided with higher risks for heart disease, damaged kidneys, and cognitive issues. The study involved over 460,000 children and adolescents across 40 hospitals.
