Los Angeles child dies from rare measles complication
A child in Los Angeles has died from a rare, long-term complication of measles, years after initially recovering from the infection. Health officials said the child got measles as an infant, even before she was eligible for her measles-mumps-rubella, or MMR, shot. The first dose should be given to babies at 12-15 months and a second at 4-6 years.
