Mamata blames Bhutan for Bengal floods that killed 40, seeks compensation
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has blamed Bhutan for the recent floods in North Bengal that killed around 40 people. "We want them (Bhutan) to give us compensation," said Banerjee, while also demanding the formation of Indo-Bhutan Joint River Commission and West Bengal's inclusion in it. She once again accused the Centre of withholding funds for handling calamities.
