Man acquitted in 2006 Mumbai blasts seeks ₹9 cr for 9 yrs in jail
Dr Wahid Shaikh, an accused in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts case, has approached the National Human Rights Commission, seeking compensation of ₹9 crore for the losses he endured during his years of imprisonment. Shaikh spent nine years in jail before being acquitted by a special court in 2015. Seven coordinated explosions occurred on local trains, killing over 180 people.
