Man who challenged Pelicot rape conviction handed longer jail term
A French appeals court has increased the jail term of the only man who had challenged his conviction for raping Gisèle Pelicot. The sentence of the 44-year-old man, Husamettin Dogan, who was convicted along with at least 50 others, was raised to 10 years. Dogan had referred to himself as a "victim" and called Pelicot a victim of her husband.
