Metals, sulphate in air pollution mixture may worsen asthma: Study
Metals, including nickel and vanadium, and sulphate particles, which are components of fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5), may worsen asthma and lead to hospitalisation, according to a study published in American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. The study found that for each decile increase in pollutant mixture, hospitalisations rose 10.6% among children and 8% among adults.
