Spoonful of microplastics found in human brain
A study has detected microplastics in human brains at much higher concentrations than in other organs. Plastic accumulation appears to be growing over time, having increased 50% over the past eight years. "The concentrations we saw in the brain tissue of normal individuals were 4,800 micrograms per gram...or 0.48% by weight...equivalent of an entire standard plastic spoon," a researcher said.
