Moon may hold large reserves of platinum-group metals: Study
A new study suggests the Moon may hold vast reserves of platinum-group metals (PGMs) hidden beneath its craters. Researchers estimate around 6,500 craters (≥1 km diameter) to contain remnants of metal-rich asteroids. Around 3,400 craters could also contain significant amounts of water in the form of hydrated minerals. The study is titled 'On ore-bearing asteroid remnants in lunar craters'.
