Mountains, including Himalayas, warming 50% faster: Study
A study shows that warming at high elevations, including the Himalayas, has been about 50% faster than the global average since 1950. Mountains are also drying faster and losing snow more quickly than lowlands, it added. Researchers from the University of Portsmouth studied this "elevation-dependent climate change", caused by factors like sunlight reflection, humidity, and particles in the air.
