After IMD warned of extremely heavy rain in Mumbai till Thursday morning, police released an advisory stating, "Requesting all Mumbaikars to stay indoors, until essential. Please stay safe. #Dial100 in case of any emergencies." Meanwhile, the Mumbai civic body has announced holiday for schools and colleges on Thursday.
