Mumbai's Mithi river crosses danger mark, residents evacuated
The Mithi River in Mumbai’s Kurla area crossed the danger mark of 4 metres, prompting immediate evacuations. The river had reached 3.10 metres by noon but later breached the critical level. BMC teams began evacuating residents from low-lying Krantinagar, a flood-prone slum located on airport land, as a precaution against rising water and potential overflow.
