After Indian-origin entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced his candidacy for the Ohio Governor race in 2026, DOGE head Elon Musk said the former had his "full endorsement". Ramaswamy was tapped by US President Donald Trump to lead DOGE alongside Musk after US presidential elections. Ramaswamy, however, soon exited the department, following which reports of rift between him and Musk emerged.
