Mystery behind Mars cloud that forms every day during summer solstice revealed
Scientists have solved puzzle of a massive water-ice cloud that appears daily over Mars' extinct volcano Arsia Mons during summer solstice. Arsia Mons Elongated Cloud, stretching up to 1,800 km, forms when moist air rises along its slopes at dawn and condenses into ice crystals, creating the cloud. By midday, sunlight evaporates it. However, same topography recreates it next day.
