NASA begins 2nd Mars simulation mission on Earth with 4 astronauts
NASA has begun its second 378-day CHAPEA mission as four volunteers entered the 1,700-square-foot Mars-simulating habitat at Houston's Johnson Space Center. Ross Elder, Ellen Ellis, Matthew Montgomery and James Spicer will live there until October 2026, with limited resources and a 22-minute communication delay. They'll perform simulated Marswalks, conduct robotic tasks, and grow crops.
