NASA captures Pillow Nebula, the brightest stellar explosion on record
NASA has shared details of NGC 7027, known as the Pillow Nebula or the Flying Carpet Nebula. The nebula, approximately 3,000 light-years from Earth, is one of the brightest recorded, ejecting gas and dust, forming a strange four-cornered pattern. As per scientists' theory, there's a close binary star system at the nebula's centre that might explain its erratic features.
