NASA launches rockets to probe mysterious radio-disrupting clouds
NASA is launching rockets from a remote Pacific island to study "mysterious" high-altitude, cloud-like structures that can disrupt communication systems, the agency said. The three-week mission, called Sporadic-E ElectroDynamics or SEED, began on Friday. These structures can cause ATCs and marine radio users to receive signals from faraway regions, mistaking them for nearby sources, NASA stated.
