NASA mission to image sun's atmosphere, track solar wind origin
NASA's PUNCH mission, which is launching on Friday, will closely observe the solar atmosphere and trace the origins of solar winds and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). Using four suitcase-sized satellites, PUNCH will create 3D images of the sun's corona, enhancing space weather predictions vital for Earth’s communication systems, GPS navigation and power grids. The mission's lifespan is two years.
