NASA's X-59 quiet supersonic aircraft moves under its own power for the 1st time
NASA's X-59 quiet supersonic research aircraft has officially begun taxi tests, marking the first time it moved under its own power. NASA pilot Nils Larson and the Lockheed Martin-led team completed the one-of-a-kind experimental aircraft's first low-speed taxi test at US Air Force Plant 42 in California. NASA's X-59 aircraft is designed to fly supersonic without producing loud sonic booms.
