Navy commissions 1st India-built diving support vessel Nistar
Indian Navy commissioned Nistar, the first indigenously constructed diving support vessel in Visakhapatnam, on Friday. It will serve as ‘Mother Ship’ for the Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) and is equipped with an operation theatre, intensive care unit and an eight-bedded hospital. The vessel has been constructed with contribution of over 120 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
