Nearly half of Indian population lives in flood-prone areas: Moody's
India is one of the most flood-prone countries in Asia, according to an estimate by Moody's. Nearly half of India's population live in locations that are at risk of inland or coastal flooding at the 100-year defended return period. More than 62.2 crore Indians are prone to inland flooding, while 4.8 crore are at risk of coastal flooding, it said.
