Nehru dropped Maa Durga stanzas from Vande Mataram in 1937: BJP
BJP, on Friday, accused Congress of "historically distorting" Vande Mataram under Jawaharlal Nehru. BJP’s CR Kesavan claimed that in 1937, Congress "deliberately removed" stanzas of Vande Mataram which hailed Ma Durga, citing religious grounds. "It's imperative for the younger generation to know how Congress, pandering to its communal agenda, adopted a shortened Vande Mataram," he added.
