New COVID-19 variant 'Nimbus' causing 'razor blade throat' in US
A new COVID-19 variant 'Nimbus' is spreading in United States's California. Known scientifically as NB.1.8.1, the variant is currently being monitored by the World Health Organization and was first detected in China earlier this year. The variant, commonly described by patients as "razor blade throat", is causing pain which is being compared to "swallowing shards of glass".
