Nimesulide, banned 13 yrs ago, still prescribed to children; govt calls for sensitisation
Despite a 13-year-old ban on use of painkiller and anti-fever medicine Nimesulide in children, reports of side effects are reaching drug monitoring agency Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), indicating it's still being prescribed, News18 reported. IPC has urged drug manufacturers to sensitise paediatricians and healthcare professionals about the importance of not prescribing it to children.
