Nine in 10 Indians deficient in Vitamin D despite sunlight
A staggering nine in 10 Indians are deficient in Vitamin D, even though the country receives plenty of sunlight year-round. Many reports by ICMR, NIH have earlier warned about the same. Experts attribute this to indoor lifestyles, air pollution, sunscreen use, and poor diet choices that limit Vitamin D absorption. The deficiency leads to weak bones, fatigue, and lowered immunity.
