No choice but to move capital from Tehran: Iranian President
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said they have "no choice" but to move its capital from Tehran to the south of the country due to over-expansion and water shortage. Tehran, whose population has risen to over 10 million, consumes 25% of Iran's water supplies. Pezeshkian said he faced severe criticism after presenting the proposal to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei last year.
