No shortage of dogs, there's a lack of kids: Pope amid Italy's birth crisis
Pope Francis on Friday urged Italians to have more children amid country's declining birth rates and ageing population. "Homes are filled with objects...There's no shortage of little dogs, cats...There is a lack of children," the Pope said. Italy's birth rate has reportedly been falling steadily for about 15 years. It dropped to a record low of 3,79,000 births last year.
