Speaking at the Rising Northeast Investors Summit on Friday, PM Narendra Modi said that the Northeast is the powerhouse of energy and that "Northeast is 'Ashta Lakshmi' for us". "There was a time when the Northeast was only called a frontier, now it is the frontrunner of growth," he said. "East means Empower, Act, Strengthen and Transform," he added.
