Following criticism for climax of 'Squid Game 3', rumours claimed that the ending intended to push an American spin-off. However, director Hwang Dong-hyuk denied such claims and said, "I've heard rumours too—about filming in December, about me directing it, or that David Fincher's involved. Some even say Cate Blanchett's leading it. But honestly, none of it is based on fact."
