Oumuamua may be Pluto-like shard of ice, not comet: Scientists
Discovered in 2017, interstellar object 'Oumuamua puzzled astronomers with its speed and shape and was thought to be a comet. But, a new research led by Steve Desch, an exoplanet researcher at Arizona State University, suggests it is a shard of nitrogen ice resembling Pluto's surface. Unlike typical comets, 'Oumuamua lacks rock or carbon-rich material and looks pancake-shaped, not spherical.
