Pak-origin Shabana Mahmood becomes UK's 1st Muslim Home Secy
Shabana Mahmood was appointed UK Home Secretary on Friday, replacing Yvette Cooper in PM Keir Starmer's cabinet reshuffle. Mahmood, born in Birmingham to Pakistani parents, previously served as Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor and has become the first Muslim person to hold the Home Secretary's post.
