Pak to amend its Constitution to give more powers to army chief Munir: Reports
Pakistan is planning to table the 27th constitutional amendment in Parliament, which is likely to give more powers to the military and Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, several reports said. Minister Khawaja Asif said Article 243 needed amendments due to changing "defence requirements". Notably, Article 243 says that the armed forces have to be in control of the federal government.
