Panjurli Muga, mask from Tulu Nadu popularised by 'Kantara' movies, on display in US museum
The Panjurli Muga, a mask from Tulu Nadu which was popularised in the 'Kantara' movies, is on display at US' National Museum of Asian Art. Panjurli is the divine spirit of a male wild boar worshipped as a part of the Bhuta Kola tradition. "[The mask] was made for a dancer who acted as a medium," the display's description stated.
