Fire has destroyed the Parliament of the Marshall Islands, fire and police officials said on Tuesday. The Marshall Islands Fire Department said that half of the Parliament building, known as the Nitijela, had been burnt down in the fire that broke out overnight and the remaining structure cannot be used. A fire truck had responded to the blaze, officials added.
