People thought we'd bring world down, we proved them wrong: PM on COVID-19
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during NDTV World Summit 2025, said that people thought India would bring the world down with it during COVID-19 pandemic due to its population. "But India proved every speculation wrong...We rapidly developed our own vaccine. We administered vaccines in record time," said PM. "By overcoming such a huge crisis, we became the fastest-growing economy," he added.
