Physical activity in mid-life may cut dementia risk by 45%: Study
Regular physical activity in mid-life and later may reduce dementia risk by up to 45% compared to people who are less active, a study has found. Published in JAMA, it said exercise can directly slow production of amyloid clumps in brain, a phenomenon considered intrinsic to Alzheimer's. The accumulation of these amyloid proteins can lead to cell death.
