Pic shows rare 'grue jay' bird that hybridised due to climate change, likely first-of-its-kind
Texas University biologists have reported the discovery of a rare 'grue jay' bird, which is the natural result of a green jay and a blue jay’s mating. Notably, the two parents are separated by 7 million years of evolution. "We think it's the first observed vertebrate that's hybridised...due, at least in part, to climate change," the study's first author said.
