Pics of Mars' volcano reveal details of frozen lava rivers
The ESA has shared stunning images of Olympus Mons, Mars' volcano, which is 27 km high and has a base over 600 km wide. The photos reveal frozen rivers of lava that once streamed down its slopes, offering a glimpse into the planet's volcanic past. Formed around 3.5 billion years ago, the volcano is considered dormant, with no recent eruptions.
