Plastic-linked diseases cost world $1.5 trillion yearly: Study
A Lancet study warned that the world is facing "plastics crisis" which costs at least $1.5 trillion annually in health damage. Plastics, made with over 16,000 chemicals, harm people from all age groups, raising miscarriage, birth defects, cancer, lung damage, and infertility risks. Production of plastic has surged 200-fold since 1950 and is set to triple by 2060, it added.
